Bibibi. in Daikanyama spotlights Chiba's Maturi Brewery
Bibibi., a craft beer pub in Daikanyama, shared a new Instagram feature on the brewery currently on tap. This edition highlights Maturi Brewery in Gyotoku, Chiba, with beers such as Maturi-zaka Saison, Shukusai IPA, and Banzai Red Ale.
Bibibi.'s latest Instagram post in its "brewery currently on tap" series features Maturi Brewery from Gyotoku, Chiba. Bibibi. is a Daikanyama beer pub known for serving Japanese craft beer together with the stories behind each brewer, and this post follows that approach closely.
Maturi Brewery opened in June 2021 with the idea of creating "special days" through portable shrines and brewing. The brewery takes inspiration from the mikoshi culture of the Gyotoku area, which gives the brand a distinctly local identity. Owner and creative director Genichi Ito grew up in Gyotoku and now lives in Urayasu. He runs the brewery while also working at an advertising agency, giving the project a very hands-on, parallel-worker character.
The beers mentioned in the feature are Maturi-zaka Saison, Shukusai IPA, and Banzai Red Ale. The names alone suggest a festive, celebratory lineup, but the brewery is also notable for turning beer into an experience. One collaboration with a craft beer community even turned strawberry harvesting and brewing into an event, adding another layer to the story.
That is where Bibibi. fits in well. In a relaxed standing-bar setting in Daikanyama, drinkers can enjoy a glass while learning what sits behind it: the place, the people, and the ideas that shaped the beer. For beer fans, that combination is often just as satisfying as the pour itself.
