At the factory direct sale day on March 29, North Island Beer’s Ebetsu Brewery will welcome visitors with an 11:00 opening. According to the post, preparations were completed a little earlier than usual, so the direct sales shop will start business ahead of schedule. It was also said that the day before, the shop recorded its highest sales of the fiscal year, suggesting strong interest in buntan beer.

The by-weight beer for the day is "Buntan Lager." The price is 2.0 yen per gram, with a plastic cup for 650 yen, and sales will run from 11:00 to 15:00. On Instagram, the brewery said that many people had been waiting for buntan beer and encouraged people to stop by.

This Buntan Lager is a limited beer introduced on the official website as a fruit lager released on February 28, 2025. It uses Tosa buntan, a specialty product of Tosa City in Kochi Prefecture, one of Ebetsu’s sister cities, and showcases a bright citrus aroma and a light, easy-drinking finish. Being able to enjoy a limited beer by weight is a real highlight unique to factory direct sales.

North Island Beer’s factory is located on the first floor of Ambitious Plaza, 11-5 Motomachi, Ebetsu, Hokkaido, and the official website says brewing takes place in Ebetsu’s clear air, where visitors can also see bottling and inspection in progress. The brewery also operates the directly managed Beer Bar NORTH ISLAND in central Sapporo, sharing the brand’s character both at the factory and at the city bar.
