Hakuto Brewing's new release is FRUITY COFFEE IPA. It's a `alc. 6.5%` hazy IPA using light-roasted specialty coffee from @rabbit_village_coffee_.

According to the post, the hop aroma is tuned toward peach and citrus, with berry-like nuances from the coffee layered on top. Rather than simply adding coffee flavor, it is designed so fruitiness and coffee character blend smoothly in the same glass.

The brewery behind this beer, Hakuto Brewing, is based in Murayama City, Yamagata Prefecture. One of its notable features is that it also has an attached coffee shop, and this release can be seen as a beer that makes use of that environment. What gives the brewery its character is how it brings the meeting point of beer and coffee into the design of aroma and flavor.

Sales are in two stages: available from April 24 in the online store and from April 25 in stores. How did they layer coffee expression onto the drinkability of a Hazy IPA? For people interested in both craft beer and specialty coffee, this is a new release worth paying attention to.
