Amaterasu Brewery in Fujisawa, Kanagawa, has announced two new beers at the same time. In the post, the brewery described the release as a "NEW TAP" and "NEW CAN" double opening, pairing the DIPA "UPLIGHT" (8%) with "Yellow Lailalai" (SOUR w/ Pineapple, 4.5%).
"UPLIGHT" is presented as a straightforward, center-of-the-style IPA. According to the caption, the beer uses a simple malt-and-hop structure while aiming for a highly polished IPA character. With its higher alcohol content, the brewery says it is a good choice for a second beer.
"Yellow Lailalai" takes a different direction, leaning into a summer-friendly sour profile. Pineapple puree and guava puree are added to the beer, bringing a pineapple-forward aroma and a crisp acidic finish. The brewery notes that the beer character is kept light, making it approachable even for people who do not usually drink beer.
For a brewery based in Fujisawa, the release shows two distinct styles offered side by side: a hop-driven DIPA and a fruit-forward sour. It is a lineup that gives drinkers options depending on mood, timing, and occasion.
