A two-day gathering of local makers

The Kama and Taru Harvest Festival is a craft event featuring beer, gin, whisky, and other locally produced drinks from Shonan and wider Kanagawa. It is scheduled for September 26 and 27, 2026, from 11:00 to 18:00 at Gate Square on the first floor of Terrace Mall Shonan. The event may be canceled in severe weather, and drinks will be available while supplies last.

Participating beer producers are expected to include Kamakura Beer, Yokosuka Beer, Odawara Garage Brewing, and MIURA brewery. Ken’s Brewery will also take part, bringing its Sagamihara-made craft beer to an audience in the Shonan area.

Craft beer and local food in Yabe, Sagamihara

Ken’s Brewery is based in Yabe, Chuo Ward, Sagamihara. According to its official website, the brewery’s taproom usually offers around eight distinctive craft beers made by independent breweries, with tasting and comparison encouraged. Its food menu focuses on dishes that pair well with beer, including bacon steak made with Kanagawa’s Koza pork, sausages, cheese, and other snacks.

By combining craft beer with ingredients from the region, Ken’s Brewery has developed a local identity rooted in both brewing and food. Its appearance at the festival will give regular customers and Shonan beer enthusiasts an opportunity to discover the brewery outside its home neighborhood.

Dedicated tasting tumblers required

Admission is free, but visitors ordering drinks must use either a festival tumbler purchased in advance or a dedicated tumbler rented at the venue. The advance package includes a 440 ml original tumbler and three drink tickets. Same-day options include a rental tumbler with two drink tickets, as well as additional ticket sets. Payments will be cashless, including credit cards, electronic payments, and QR payments.

The festival offers a compact way to explore the brewing and distilling culture of Kanagawa. Further details about Ken’s Brewery’s lineup are expected through the event’s official social media channels.
