Three New Taps at Citra Bar Koenji, a Taste-Off of Distinctive Hops
Craft Beer Sakaba Citra Bar Koenji announced three new taps in a March 25 post. The lineup features KYOTO NUDE BREWERY, Shiokaze Blue Lab, and Fujizakura Kogen Beer, letting drinkers enjoy the full range of hop expression in one go, from citrus and tropical to dank.
At the beer pub "Craft Beer Sakaba Citra Bar" near Koenji Station, three guest beers were tapped at once. The post introduced it as opening from 4 p.m., alongside a weekday-evening-friendly schedule that makes it easy to drop by after work.
The highlight this time is three labels with clearly different aromatic directions.
- KYOTO NUDE BREWERY / SHOSEI - Evening Star -
A citrus profile that layers tangerine and grapefruit over white-grape-like nuances. It gives a softly warm impression, making this a beer you want to linger over and track the aroma carefully.
- Shiokaze Blue Lab / ICE AGE
With the dank character restrained, it expresses flavors of peach, pineapple, and bitter orange. In addition to hop aroma and flavor, the design also gives a sense of malt-derived body.
- Fujizakura Kogen Beer / Hop Pop Brothers - West Coast IPA -
While keeping bitterness in check, three hops create a balanced arrangement of tropical, citrus, and dank notes. The finish is dry and crisp.
Citra Bar is a Koenji standout that rotates a wide variety of domestic craft kegs at a brisk pace. It is easy to plan anything from a post-work drink to a visit centered on tasting comparisons. This time, especially, it is a chance to line up three beers with different personalities even though all three put hops in the spotlight.
