Ryusendo Wakka in Iwaizumi Town, Iwate Prefecture, will start pre-selling its new in-house brewed 'Harugasumi IPA' on draft beer from April 11. Made with Ryusendo's water and local ingredients, it can also be enjoyed at monaka in Morioka on April 11 and 12.
Ryusendo Wakka in Iwaizumi Town, Iwate Prefecture, will begin pre-selling its new 'Harugasumi IPA,' brewed in its in-house brewery, starting April 11. The shop uses Ryusendo's water and is developing itself as a multi-use facility with sightseeing, retail, and a taproom, aiming to become a hub that connects Iwaizumi's "water" and "food".
This 'Harugasumi IPA' is a beer lavishly made with Ryusen yaezakura and sake lees from daiginjo. The post says it has been crafted with fruitiness reminiscent of white peach, along with a springlike gentle bitterness. It has a seasonal feel that is distinct from the standard 'Ryusendo Vibeeru,' and it is designed to be the kind of beer you want to drink in spring.
Sales will mainly be centered at the Ryusendo Wakka in-house brewery, but for the two days of April 11 and 12 it will also be served on draft at monaka in Morioka. According to the official Ryusendo Wakka website, the facility offers craft beer made with Ryusendo's water and locally sourced ingredients, as well as a shop carrying Iwaizumi Town's specialty products. As a new craft beer from the long-established sake maker Izumikin Shuzo, it is worth paying attention to how the local ingredients have been translated into flavor.
