Yoho Brewing has developed the “Wobbly Beer Glass by Yona Yona Ale,” a U-shaped beer glass designed to tip over when it contains beer alone. The Nagano-based brewery began accepting reservations through its official online store on August 5, 2026, while bars and restaurants also began offering the glass from the same day.\n\nThe glass is designed to hold approximately 270 milliliters of beer and 270 milliliters of water. When only beer is poured, its balance becomes unstable and the glass falls over. Users therefore need to drink water alongside their beer, creating a simple and playful reminder to stay hydrated while drinking.\n\nThe product went through seven prototypes. The final design includes a narrowed center and outward-opening rims to prevent liquid from spilling from the opposite side while drinking. Its base has rounded edges and a flat center, resembling a vehicle tire, allowing the glass to stand when used correctly. The shape also brings the drinker’s nose close to the beer, helping them enjoy its aroma.\n\nThe glass is priced at 13,750 yen including tax, with shipments scheduled to begin in mid-September 2026. At YONA YONA BEER WORKS Shintora-dori, customers can order a set featuring the glass and a 350-milliliter can of Yona Yona Ale for 880 yen including tax. The glass is also being offered at around 30 beer bars and restaurants nationwide, as well as temporarily at the JAL International Sakura Lounge at Chubu Centrair International Airport.\n\nBased in Nagano, Yoho Brewing produces distinctive craft beers including Yona Yona Ale and Tokyo Black. The brewery has previously promoted responsible drinking through products such as the “Slow Beer Glass,” which encourages people to drink at a slower pace. The Wobbly Beer Glass continues that approach by turning water consumption into part of the beer-drinking experience itself.
