Want a Beer to Host Karuizawa Q Tap Takeover in Utsunomiya
Utsunomiya beer pub Want a Beer will celebrate its 5.5th anniversary with a Karuizawa Q tap takeover. Every tap will feature Karuizawa Q beers, with a brewer appearance, a collaboration beer debut, original merchandise, and themed food planned.
A 5.5th Anniversary Celebration
Want a Beer, a craft-beer pub in Moto-Imaizumi, Utsunomiya, Tochigi, will host a Karuizawa Q tap takeover on Saturday, October 17, from 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., with last orders at 10:00 p.m.
For the event, every beer tap at the pub will be dedicated to Karuizawa Q beers. Karuizawa Q brewer Isawa is also scheduled to attend, giving guests an opportunity to enjoy the beers while meeting the person behind them.
The featured release is a collaboration beer called “Kanpai wa Q — Michikusa.” Available exclusively at Want a Beer and Karuizawa Q affiliated venues, it is an American wheat beer modeled after Yoho Brewing’s “Boku Beer Kimi Beer — Yorimichi.” The beer is described as having a smooth, mellow mouthfeel from wheat and tropical hop flavors.
Guests will also have a chance to purchase Karuizawa Q original merchandise and the brewery’s first bottled beers. Bottled beers, excluding the collaboration beer, will be available as souvenirs. Food inspired by the letter and sound “Q” is planned, including cucumber dishes, quattro formaggi, quiche, and acqua pazza.
Want a Beer is a craft-beer-focused pub in Utsunomiya’s Moto-Imaizumi district. Reservations are recommended, as busy conditions may require shared seating or standing service inside the pub.
