A special 7th-anniversary event at THE SLOP SHOP on 3/21, with Mr. Sato serving Nodogoshi
The beer pub THE SLOP SHOP in Toritsu-Daigaku, Tokyo, will hold a special event for its 7th-anniversary celebration on March 21. Mr. Sato of Beer Boulevard / Pilsen Alley will be invited to serve Nodogoshi, a rice lager from Brooklyn-based Saltfields Brewing.
At THE SLOP SHOP in Nakane, Meguro Ward, Tokyo, a special guest event for the 7th-anniversary celebration has been announced. The event will be held on Saturday, March 21, 2026. According to the post, the guest will be Mr. Sato, owner of Beer Boulevard / Pilsen Alley, and known as the first Japanese Pilsner Urquell tapster.
The featured beer this time is clearly stated to be Saltfields Brewing's "Nodogoshi". Its style is a rice lager, and Mr. Sato will be responsible for serving it. The shop explains that it has incorporated this project into the anniversary event after taking into account the ongoing popularity of lagers in the North American craft scene, side-pull faucets and slope pours, and more recent trends such as rice lagers and sharp pouring techniques.
THE SLOP SHOP opened in 2019. The shop has a history of consistently following overseas craft beer trends, and this event is also meant to present "today's lager culture" as an experience. For beer fans in the Toritsu-Daigaku area who want to enjoy a pint with the server's technique included, this is a 7th-anniversary event that is hard to miss.
