Did you know Oita City's first microbrewery? It's 'Yell & Ale Brewery,' about a 5-minute walk from Oita Station.

Oita City's first microbrewery!?
Hop Bro
It started after obtaining its brewing license in 2018. The taproom 'Abe Bond' is attached, and it really has the atmosphere of a 'small factory and pub on a street corner.'
Mugi
Abe Bond is an interesting name. What does it mean?
Hop Bro
"Bond" means connecting people through beer. As for Yell & Ale, it's a message that says, 'Drink a delicious ale and cheer on the people around you.'
Mugi
Cheers with ale! That's so lovely...!

The brewer here is very humble and friendly, and they brew American malt with Oita water. Their signature beers include "Funaimachi Ale," a pale ale named after a local area in Oita, and "Toyonokuni Gold," a dry golden ale with a crisp, pleasantly bitter finish.
Mugi
Funaimachi, Toyonokuni... the beer names really show how much they love Oita!

They also make an IPA called "Hustler IV," a session IPA called "UTAKATA," and a white IPA called "Spica☆Pika Pika," so their naming sense is unique and fun. Their bitter beer is also well regarded, with a rich malt character, a clean taste, and a smooth finish.
Mugi
Spica☆Pika Pika! So cute! I want to try it!

On Fridays, it's food-free, so bringing your own food is allowed. You can pick up your favorite deli items nearby and enjoy them with freshly brewed beer. About 10 taps are connected at all times, and in addition to their house beers, they also rotate in craft beers from all over Japan.
Mugi
They have days when outside food is allowed!? My favorite snacks with freshly brewed beer... this is the kind of place I'd keep coming back to!
