Do you know Arita Porcelain Park? There's a brewery inside a theme park that recreates Germany's Zwinger Palace.
Mugi
What, they brew beer inside a palace!?
Hop Bro
It's operated by Munemasa Shuzo, a sake and spirits producer founded in 1985, and they're one of Saga's signature breweries thanks to their shochu "Nonnoko." They've expanded that brewing know-how into beer too, releasing a craft beer line called "Nomanba Beer".
Mugi
"Nomanba"!? That's such a cute name! What kind of beer is it?
Hop Bro
There are three kinds. Nomanba Pilsner is made with Saga-grown pilsner malt and Saaz hops, giving it a sweet, gentle flavor. Nomanba American Pale Ale is dry-hopped with American citrusy aroma hops, so you get a refreshing bitterness.
Mugi
They use malt grown in Saga! So it's made with local ingredients.
Hop Bro
Exactly. Saga ranks first in Japan for two-row barley production. And Nomanba Indian Pale Beer uses even more citrusy hops for a stronger bitterness that's irresistible for beer lovers.
Mugi
A craft beer made seriously by a shochu brewery sounds like it has real depth!
Hop Bro
What's more, you can drink freshly brewed, limited-release beer at the park's restaurant "Kura." Tasting craft beer in Arita ware vessels is the kind of experience you can only have here.
Mugi
Beer in a building like a palace, served in Arita ware vessels!? I want to go!
