FETISH CLUB

FETISH CLUB is a brewery with bases in Hamamatsucho, Tokyo and Kudamatsu, Yamaguchi, and its background is pretty unusual.

The owner, Hiro, is from Yamaguchi and used to work at a design studio in Shinjuku. During the COVID pandemic, his favorite IPA bar closed, and he started by thinking, 'If it doesn't exist, I'll make it myself.'

What’s even more surprising is the brewmaster, Sowon. He used to work in the cosmetics industry, and he applies fragrance-blending techniques to hop selection. That’s why FETISH CLUB's beers have such meticulously designed aromas.

Their flagship beer, 'COSMIC,' is a DDH Hazy IPA with layered aromas of passion fruit, mango, and grapefruit. 'AVENTURE' is an 8.5% Hazy Double IPA with citrus aromas and the sweetness of Japanese rice.

And the signature style here is Rice IPA. They're deeply committed to IPAs made with Japanese rice, and 'GHOST,' a collaboration with Ghost in the Shell, layers gentle rice sweetness over a West Coast IPA base.

The concept is 'condensing Japanese night culture,' and the inspiration comes from Shinjuku's neon-lit streets and night culture. They have a full-scale production brewery with large tanks in their hometown of Yamaguchi, while on the first floor of their Tokyo bar they brew experimental new releases in smaller tanks, and across four brewhouses they have 20 fermentation tanks.
