You know, in Maizuru there's a brewery called "Kyoto Maizuru Brewery." The brand name is "MAIZURU CRAFT."

Maizuru! I had this image of Kyoto as mostly a city-center place, but there's a brewery on the sea side too.

It's in the Kitasui area, and if you look at Instagram, it seems to be connected with an Italian place called Pizzeria Slow. Pizza and craft beer as a combination.
Mugi
Pizza and craft beer! That's definitely a winning combination.

Honestly, there's still very little information out there, and specific beer names or the brewer's background haven't been published. It's listed as an active brewery in the brewery list, so it's definitely up and running.
Mugi
Really? Maybe it's still pretty new?

I think so. Maizuru is a place with a very strong identity as a port town, with the Red Brick Warehouses and naval history. Starting a craft brewery there is extremely interesting in terms of potential.
Mugi
Totally! Seafood and craft beer sounds amazing.

The Sea of Japan side of Kyoto Prefecture has been seeing more breweries pop up recently, like Tangoya Brewery and Primary Barrels, so I think Maizuru is part of that trend. There's still not much public information, but it's definitely one to watch.

The lack of information makes it even more tempting to go see for myself! I'd love to stop by while sightseeing in Maizuru.
