Furano Local Beer House

Furano Jibeer House is a brewery that was renovated from a former pension. It has a retro, mountain-lodge-like building in the Kitanomine ski area.

It is operated by Yuga Dokuson Co., Ltd. The owner of the curry restaurant "Yuga Dokuson," a famous shop in front of Furano Station that has been around for more than 40 years since 1974, originally ran "Pension Yama no Dokuson" in Kitanomine and converted it into a local beer brewery in 2000.

Curry and beer are the best combination, right? Yuga Dokuson is famous for its house-made roux made with 29 kinds of spices, and they pair it with in-house brewed beer and handmade sausages. The beers are four kinds: Hikari (Pilsner), Nigo (Weizen), Yami (Dark), and Pale Ale.

The building has a mountain-lodge style, with table seating on the first floor and tatami seating on the second, and it also has an izakaya called "Yama no Dokuson," where you can drink as well. But since it mainly operates during ski season, you should be careful about when you go.

You can also drink at the year-round Yuga Dokuson near Furano Station. They also do contract brewing, helping supply beer to the local area. It's interesting how they expanded from a curry shop into a pension, beer brewing, and sausage making, creating a diversified business rooted in Furano.
