Mugi-chan, have you ever been to ES CON FIELD? Behind the center-field scoreboard in that ballpark, Yo-Ho Brewing has set up a brewery. It's called "Soratoshiba by Yona Yona Ale."

What, a brewery inside a stadium!? Does something like that really exist?

And it's the world's first craft beer brewery-restaurant with a full view of the field. If you sit on the rooftop seats on the second floor, the natural-grass field spreads out right in front of you.

So you can drink beer while watching baseball? That's amazing! What kind of beer do they have?

The flagship is "Play Ball! Ale." It's a session IPA with 4.5% ABV. It uses some hops grown in Kamifurano, so it has a refreshing citrus aroma. It won the gold medal in the session IPA category at the International Beer Cup 2023.

Wow! A beer brewed in a ballpark winning gold at an international competition is incredible, isn't it?

They've also won multiple awards at the International Beer Cup, including category champion honors. The brewers exchange ideas every day inside the ballpark and keep coming out with bold new releases. They even had a collaboration with Taiwan's Taihu Brewing called "Red Oolong Beer," made with Taiwanese tea.

What!? Tea in beer!? That's so interesting!

They always keep three core beers on tap, and seasonal beers rotate throughout the year. They also have a weizen called "Moku-Moku White," which has a banana-like fruity aroma and little bitterness, so it's a great place to go with friends who are new to beer.

Can you go even on days when there's no game?

Basically, it's open year-round. The brewing equipment is on the first floor, and you can drink beer that's just been drawn from the tanks. They also offer brewery tours, so tasting beer fresh from the source is one of the things that makes this place special.

It's worth going even if you're not a baseball fan! I'm definitely going on my next trip to Hokkaido!
