Tokyo’s Koyamachi beer pub The Cat & Cask Tavern has announced its draft lineup for Wednesday, April 22. The shop is a house-style venue with a British atmosphere and aims to create a quiet, relaxing space. For Japanese craft beer, it features three handpump real-ale taps and three draft taps, allowing guests to enjoy a different combination each day.

The beers that day are four kinds: Kameido Beer “Suijin Pale Ale,” Minoh “Nice Bitter,” Minoh “Session Black IPA,” and Minoh “Osaru IPA” real ale. Pale ale, bitter, black IPA, and IPA, each with a different direction, make for a lineup that ranges from a light, easy drink to a more hop-forward pour and options with pronounced malt character. The real ale is served as one cask per week starting on Wednesdays, and on this day “Osaru IPA” fills that slot.

The pub is open Wednesday through Saturday from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Last order for food is 9:00 p.m., and last order for beer is 9:30 p.m. Groups are limited to four people per party, and payment is cash on delivery. With its seating limits and deliberate service pace, it is a place suited to a day when you want to choose your beer slowly.

The Cat & Cask Tavern is also a place where following the changing cask lineup is part of the fun. On April 22, it looks like a day to compare four beers, centered on Minoh staples and Kameido Beer’s pale ale, including a real ale.
