Five draft beers confirmed at a brewpub in Bifuka
The board inside Restaurant BSB, attached to Bifuka Shirakaba Brewery, listed five beers as the current draft lineup. The selection is clearly divided into distinct flavor directions, including the staple `WHITE LINES`, `As Smoke As Possible`, which highlights the character of Shirakaba wood, and the spring seasonal `はなむけ`.
The beers confirmed were as follows:
- `WHITE LINES` - IPA, 6.0%
- `As Smoke As Possible` - Smoke Ale, 4.5%
- `はなむけ` - Session IPA, 4.0%
- `Wild Sheep Chase` - Hoppy Cream Ale, 5.5%
- `月明り / Chocolate Schwarz` - 4.5%
`WHITE LINES` is the flagship IPA known as Bifuka Shirakaba Brewery's signature beer. It is characterized by a balance between the aroma that comes first and the bitterness that follows toward the end. `As Smoke As Possible` is a Smoke Ale made with smoked malt derived from Bifuka-grown birch wood, combining smoky aroma with easy drinkability. `はなむけ` is a spring limited Session IPA with a crisp, clean drinking character.
In addition, `Wild Sheep Chase` is a Hoppy Cream Ale inspired by the grasslands of Bifuka Town, while `月明り / Chocolate Schwarz` is a dark beer that lets you enjoy roasted notes, making this a lineup that should offer plenty of range for comparison.
Restaurant BSB is housed in a renovated red-brick warehouse that is more than 90 years old, and its brewery is one of the venue's major features. You can enjoy beer alongside dishes made with local lamb and the BSB Burger while looking at the brewing equipment through the glass, which is unique to this place. It also accepts growler takeout, so there is an option to enjoy a favorite beer at home as well.
It was a setup that lets you taste beer born in Bifuka together with the atmosphere of the place itself. With both standard and limited releases, plus roasted and hop-forward styles, this is the kind of spot where the fun of tasting side by side changes with every visit.
