Open Air Minatoyama Brewery unveils limited beers for Hyogo Station-front event Bakuen
Open Air Minatoyama Brewery in Hyogo Ward, Kobe, introduced a lineup of limited beers for an upcoming event on Instagram. The selection includes a collaboration beer made with sake lees, along with Hazy and sour styles, for a total of 11 varieties.
Open Air Minatoyama Brewery is a Kobe brewery in Hyogo Ward born from the renovation of the cafeteria kitchen at the former Minatoyama Elementary School. In this Instagram post, the lineup tied to the event Bakuen, held in front of Hyogo Station, was announced.
According to the post, this year marks the third Bakuen. In addition to beer, the two-day event will also feature food, and for the first time this year, sake as well. For the occasion, Open Air brewed "Sake Lees Smoothie Gose with sakura" in collaboration with Hamafukutsuru. The brewery has made beers using sake yeast before, but this is its first time using sake lees, and it presents the beer as an attempt to combine a new ingredient with the brand’s identity.
Several venue-only beers will also appear. "huajiao lager," which was well received at last year’s Bakuen, has been redesigned this year with a more Hazy-leaning profile. In addition, "craft cola sour" and "peach oolong gose" will debut.
The image shows a "Bakuen HYOGO TAP LIST" listing 11 beers planned for service, including the limited releases as well as a "new Hazy" and award-winning beers. Because quantities are limited, visitors are advised to check remaining stock of any beers they are interested in on the day. The result highlights both Open Air Minatoyama Brewery’s experimental spirit and its attention to a local event.
