PUB Karr puts Kyoto Brewing, FLORA FERMENTATION and Asahi on tap
PUB Karr in Kyoto's Nakagyo Ward posted its July 6 tap list, featuring Kyoto Brewing's "Shukyu 6-nichi" and "Pa Pi Pu Pe Bingsoo," FLORA FERMENTATION's "Cascara" and "Utsurobune," plus Asahi's "Maruef."
PUB Karr is a beer pub on the second floor along Haramachi-dori and Rokkaku in central Kyoto, with records in the background and a focus on craft beer and music. In its July 6 post, the bar noted that it was opening at 18:00 on a rainy Monday and shared the day's tap list.
The lineup consists of five beers. From Kyoto Brewing, the pub is pouring "Shukyu 6-nichi," a Belgian session IPA, and "Pa Pi Pu Pe Bingsoo," a dessert-leaning beer inspired by Korean shaved ice. The two beers show very different sides of the same brewery: one leans into citrus and tropical notes, while the other layers fruit, azuki, and milk-like sweetness.
FLORA FERMENTATION brings two more options: "Cascara," a coffee-cherry dunkel, and "Utsurobune," a hazy IPA with a hop-forward aroma. Together they offer a range that moves from roasted, cocoa-like depth to soft, juicy haze. Asahi's "Maruef" rounds out the list, giving the lineup a familiar, easygoing finish.
PUB Karr's appeal is the balance between individuality and comfort. It is the kind of place where you can start with a distinctive craft beer, move through a few different styles, and then settle into a classic pint while records spin in the background. On a rainy evening, that combination feels especially natural.
