Kanazawa brewery BREW CLASSIC has unveiled a Hazy IPA to celebrate the anniversary of a local shop.

This beer is called "Tamayaradius." It was made to commemorate the 13th anniversary of "Tamaya" near Kanazawa Station, and BREW CLASSIC's post also touches on the long-standing relationship with the shop since the brewery's early days. Before the taproom even opened, back when they were selling directly only on weekends from a corner of the brewery, the owner of Tamaya reportedly came by to buy beer. That episode shows that this one glass is not just a limited release, but part of a long relationship.

What's in the Beer

- Beer Name: Tamayaradius
- Style: Hazy IPA
- ABV: 6.5%
- Malt: Pilsner, Wheat Malt, Flaked Oats
- Hop: Nelson, Sabro cryo
- Yeast: WLP008

The core of the recipe is a hop bill centered on Nelson, layered with Sabro cryo. It is said to bring out fruit notes reminiscent of pineapple, orange, and lychee, with hints of vanilla that gently emerge as the temperature rises. By increasing the proportion of wheat malt and adjusting the hop additions, the beer is designed to keep bitterness low and the mouthfeel smooth. The intent is clear: a drinkable Hazy IPA that goes well with food and is easy to keep drinking.

BREW CLASSIC is a craft brewery near Kanazawa Port, and it also operates its own direct-run shop, "Taproom BREW CLASSIC." Both draft beer and cans are easy to take home, and the brewery is known for making it easy to enjoy a glass or a single can casually. Carefully selected snacks are also available, making the place feel well suited both for everyday use and for side-by-side tastings. "Tamayaradius" is another beer that reflects the brewery's locally rooted stance.
