Aichi’s Dekoboko BrewWorks to Hold “Craft Beer & Rakugo Night” on May 22
The event “Craft Beer & Rakugo Night,” involving Dekoboko BrewWorks of Ichinomiya City, Aichi Prefecture, will be held on May 22 at Community Cafe Kagayohi in Iwakura City. It is a program where you can enjoy craft beer and rakugo in the same space, and advance reservations are also being accepted.
The event announced for May is “Craft Beer & Rakugo Night.” The venue is Community Cafe Kagayohi in Showa-cho, Iwakura City, and the event runs from 18:00 doors open / 19:30 start. Admission is 2,800 yen for advance purchase / reservation, 3,000 yen at the door, and a separate one-drink order is required.
The performer is Tatsushiro Tachikawa. In the post, the intent is described as wanting even people who feel rakugo is “hard to approach” to experience it, and by combining it with a craft beer setting, the event is designed to create an entry point into this traditional art form.
What stands out on the beer side is Dekoboko BrewWorks in Ichinomiya City, Aichi Prefecture. In the brewery introduction, it is presented as “a brewery where people with unique edges gather,” with a brewing system centered on users of Type B continuous employment support, and the idea that it should be “a place where the people who make it can shine.” The current lineup includes “Shin Pilsner,” “Asa Kara Ale,” and “Weizen You’ll Want to Drink Every Day,” and bottle sales information at the brewery on weekdays is also being shared.
Rakugo and craft beer, both appealing through “storytelling” and “individuality.” This evening, brought together by a local brewery and a local venue, looks set to be an interesting day that could also serve as an entry point into Aichi’s craft beer scene.
