July 18 arrivals

The Beer Shop Hirakata city, a craft beer specialty shop on the 3rd floor of Hirakata Sun Plaza No. 3, posted two new beers from Himitsu Beer on July 18. The shop stocks around 150 to 200 cans and bottles, plus four to six draft beers, and offers both on-site drinking and takeaway.

The two featured beers are very much in summer mode. Suika IPA is described as a beer with bright hop aroma and bitterness up front, followed by juicy, refreshing watermelon sweetness. Lemon Hack uses only peel from home-grown lemons, keeping acidity low while bringing out a clean lemon character in IPA form. The lemon impression is said to be subtle, but worth searching for in the glass.

The draft list for the day was also announced clearly: Sapporo Brewery / Kurolabel, Asobi Brewery (Kyoto) / Yosano no Aooni, Nomcraft (Wakayama) / Wonder Mosaic, Revision Brewing (USA) / DIPA, and Hirakata Beer (Osaka) / Session Citra White. With a lineup that moves from familiar standards to more characterful options, the shop gives drinkers room to choose by mood.

Because the shop is right by the station, it works well for a quick stop after work or for a more relaxed beer comparison session. If you want something seasonal and fruit-forward, starting with the two Himitsu Beer releases and then moving through the draft list makes a natural route.
