Nagoya-based Dragon Brewing announced on its official Instagram on April 13 that its products will begin being carried at JR Nagoya Takashimaya. Its presence in a department store is drawing attention as a move that adds a new point of contact for the brewery's craft beer.

Dragon Brewing was founded in January 2025. Its business activities include "the production and sale of craft beer centered on fruit beer" and "educational services," and it is also notable for having emerged from Nagoya's educational environment. Moving back and forth between making things and learning, it continues to create beer rooted in the local community.

According to company information on Super Delivery, its sales destinations include the liquor shop Grand Cercul Nagoya inside the Matsuzakaya Nagoya store, Hozentei inside the Tokugawa Art Museum, Hosa inside the Nagoya Noh Theater, Nick Bucker, and Quoco di Mare. The start of sales at JR Nagoya Takashimaya can be seen as further evidence of this expanding distribution network.

Fruit-based beers tend to bring out pronounced aromas and acidity, making them an approachable style even for people who are not used to craft beer. If they become available at local department stores, Dragon Brewing's presence as a Nagoya-born brewery is likely to grow even stronger. It will be worth watching how its sales channels and lineup expand going forward.
