The 2nd Anniversary Beer Is "OBLAB"

In a post on April 29, Btaps Toranomon Hills Store announced its second-anniversary beer ahead of the anniversary event starting the next day. The beer introduced was OBLAB. Its style is West Coast Pale Ale / 5%, and it was brewed together with Gangi Brewing from Joetsu Myoko, Niigata Prefecture.

The aroma brings to mind grapefruit, muscat grapes, and a subtle hint of lychee. On the palate, a sharp bitterness reminiscent of citrus peel comes forward first, then cleanly fades into a dry finish. The fact that it was crafted with the goal of creating a hoppy pale ale that is firmly bitter yet still lively and aromatic also comes through clearly in this beer's character.

Best Enjoyed Alongside the Atmosphere of the Store

Btaps Toranomon Hills Store is a beer pub located on B1F of Toranomon Hills Business Tower. The interior is glass-walled and open, with counter seats and table seating that make it easy to drop in. Because it serves a rotating selection of craft beers from Japan and abroad, there is also the fun of comparing the day's taps alongside the commemorative beer.

On the food side, the menu features plenty of grill dishes that pair well with beer. Centered around meat dishes, it is set up to work whether you want to eat a full meal or just have a few light bites. OBLAB, the anniversary beer, has a distinct aroma lift and a clean bitterness, so it seems well matched with the smoky aroma of grilled food.

If you want to drink a commemorative brew with the sturdy structure of true craft beer in Toranomon Hills, this is one to check out.
