Five taps, each with a different profile

Jibeer Bar Marumugi, a small beer pub in Arakicho, Shinjuku, Tokyo, posted its beer menu for June 6. The pricing is listed at JPY 1,200+ for the large size and JPY 900+ for the small size. The lineup brings together five beers from breweries in Shizuoka, Osaka, Tochigi, and Tokyo, giving drinkers a wide range of styles in one place.

The beers on tap are:

- Honnama / Repubrew (Shizuoka) 5.5%
A straightforward first pour, positioned as an easy opener.
- Suruga Bay Imperial IPA / Baird Brewing (Shizuoka) 8.5% +JPY 100
A bold imperial IPA with pronounced bitterness.
- Grefuru Sour / Minoh Beer (Osaka) 4.5% +JPY 100
A grapefruit-forward sour with bright, refreshing acidity.
- Mayoitara Kono Pale! / Ushitora Brewery (Tochigi) 5.0% +JPY 100
A pale ale presented as a safe bet when you are undecided.
- Third Wave Porter / VECTOR BEER (Tokyo) 4.0% +JPY 100
A dark porter with a coffee-like finish, but not overly heavy.

Marumugi is located on the second floor of Ichibankan Building in Arakicho, and it is within walking distance of Yotsuya-Sanchome Station. As a compact neighborhood beer bar, it is the kind of place where a daily tap list matters. The shop also notes that it will be closed on June 7 and 8 due to the owner’s schedule, with regular service resuming on June 10 after the June 9 regular holiday.

The notice board also mentions a July 4 event: a special debut for an original beer produced by rakugo storyteller Kanda Hinomaru, centered on a coffee-aroma beer and a performance of "Yotsuya Kaidan." It adds another reason to keep an eye on Marumugi beyond the day’s tap list.
