What MIPA is

The Goodwolf Brewery is based in Higashiyoshino Village, Nara Prefecture. The brewery uses spring water born in the nearby mountains and focuses on local beers rooted in the area. Its regular lineup includes ROUROU, made with Yoshino cedar, Yuzubee with local yuzu, and Kurowolf with roasted tea. `MIPA` is the brewery’s IPA in that core range.

According to the brewery’s official information, `MIPA` stands for Deep Yoshino India Pale Ale. It is brewed by blending tea grown in the misty mountains with hops, with a clear focus on aroma and bitterness. The result is described as a beer where tea and malt support the hop character, creating a pleasant, balanced bitterness. The beer is listed as 330 ml and 5.5% ABV.

A beer rooted in place

What defines The Goodwolf Brewery is how directly it ties local ingredients and landscape into flavor design. Mountain water, village-grown tea, yuzu, and cedar all shape the identity of each beer. `MIPA` fits that approach: it delivers the familiar hop-driven profile of an IPA, while also carrying a sense of the mountain village where it was made.

For drinkers who want to understand the brewery’s style, MIPA works well alongside ROUROU and Kurowolf. The differences in ingredients make the brewery’s local character easier to read in the glass.
