Four varieties of Shimane's Izumo Daikoku Beer arrive for the first time at The Beer Shop Hirakata city
The Beer Shop Hirakata city in Hirakata, Osaka, has received its first shipment of "Izumo Daikoku Beer" from Izumo, Shimane Prefecture. A post introduces how the shop decided to stock it after being impressed by the "Izumo Daikoku Lager" at Kobe Beer Jamboree, along with the lineup of four varieties.
The Beer Shop Hirakata city, a beer pub in Okahigashicho, Hirakata City, Osaka, has welcomed "Izumo Daikoku Beer" from Izumo, Shimane Prefecture for the first time.
According to the post, the trigger for the purchase was "Izumo Daikoku Lager." It was served at the after-party for Kobe Beer Jamboree, and its flavor left a strong impression. The story later came together again when the shop ran into the company at a recent tasting event. The poster says they did not even know the brewery existed until earlier this year, and introduces it as a new guest beer from Izumo.
The beers that arrived this time are a total of four varieties: the three regular offerings, "Izumo Daikoku Lager," "Izumo Daikoku Ale," and "Shiro Usagi," plus the limited-brew "Brown Ale." "Shiro Usagi" is said to be derived from the myth "The White Rabbit of Inaba," and even the brand names evoke the story of the region.
The shop is a beer pub located in Hirakata Sun Plaza Building 3, room 306, and its appeal lies in being able to drink while following the rotation of draft beers. As of April 14, the taps also included Sapporo Black Label, Kunityo Beer's American Pale Ale, Hirakata Beer's Session Citra White, Flora Fermentation's "Frigg," and West Coast Brewing's "Boom Box," alongside the new arrivals. It offers a selection of drinks that feels distinctly Hirakata, where local brands and guest beers from afar share the same counter.
