Muurei Time Strong Golden Ale is a new release from Baird Brewery Garden Shuzenji on April 1. With an alcohol content of 9%, it is crafted as a golden ale inspired by the Belgian classic Duvel, combining a lighter body, a strong alcohol presence, and fine carbonation.

The hop design leans toward spicy and floral character, and its defining feature is that it keeps drinkability intact without pushing its strength too far to the forefront. The label depicts a hanami gathering held beneath cherry blossoms, with the theme of "muurei time," a moment to enjoy drinks while forgetting status and titles. Fitting for a spring release, it is a beer that turns Japanese drinking culture into a beer story.

Baird Brewery Garden Shuzenji is Baird's home base on the banks of the Kano River in Izu City, Shizuoka Prefecture. A tasting room opened there in June 2014, and the third-floor taproom features 20 taps. Baird Brewing itself is a family-run brewery founded in Numazu in 2000, and its official site carries the slogan "Celebrating Beer." Surrounded by the nature of Shuzenji, it continues to release new beers like this one that balance seasonal appeal with style-focused brewing.
