Novel Craft Brewing delays opening to 5:30 p.m. and unveils new Saison "Down Tempo"
Novel Craft Brewing in Suginami, Tokyo, said it would open at 5:30 p.m. on June 3 because of the typhoon. The brewery also announced a new hojicha Saison, “Down Tempo,” along with a triangle-logo T-shirt.
Tokyo-based Novel Craft Brewing updated customers on June 3 with a weather-related schedule change and two new additions: a fresh beer release and a new T-shirt.
Because of the typhoon, the brewery said it would open at 5:30 p.m. that day. The post also introduced “Down Tempo,” a Saison with hojicha at 5% ABV. According to the brewery, no aromatic hops were used; instead, a small amount of hojicha was added to complement the fruity aroma from the Saison yeast. The beer was described as still a little young, with the hojicha character expected to come through more clearly over time.
On the merch side, Novel Craft Brewing introduced a new triangle-logo T-shirt with a vintage-like texture and color palette. The shirt features a large triangle logo print and a soft feel, with the brewery singling out green as a personal favorite. Sizes available are M, L, XL, and XXL, and quantities are limited.
The day’s tap list included the brewery’s own beers — Down Tempo, Over Dub, Looper, Fuzz, Wah, and Sweep — alongside two guest beers from mingel. Even with the weather disruption, the post framed the lineup as a full offering of beer and merch for visitors who made it in.
