ISEKADO introduces redesigned limited Mr.DANK can as a 7.0% DDH West Coast IPA
ISEKADO has previewed Mr.DANK, a limited can release redesigned around balance rather than brute hop weight. Built as a DDH West Coast IPA with Strata, Citra, and Mosaic, the beer aims for a sharp finish and a lighter, more drinkable dank profile.
New release
ISEKADO, based in Ise, Mie, traces its roots to the long-established Nikenchaya Kadoya Mochiten. The brewery has built a reputation on award-winning brewing and limited releases, and Mr.DANK is positioned as one of its newest limited cans. The preview post described it as launching from this week, while the product page lists it as a 350 ml refrigerated can.
Flavor design
The product page lists the beer as a DDH West Coast IPA at 7.0% ABV and 60 IBU. The theme is "strong but not heavy": rather than pushing with sheer hop load, the recipe was rebuilt around balance and drinkability. Strata brings tropical fruit and a slight diesel note, while Citra and Mosaic add berry and citrus brightness.
Process tweaks
According to the brewer comment, Incognito, which had previously been added directly to the fermentation tank, was moved to the whirlpool this time. That heat-side addition helped clean up bitterness and make the hop aroma come through more clearly. Water adjustments were also tuned to keep the finish dry and encourage another sip.
Details
The can is priced at JPY 715, and the label artwork is by Ryota Okamura. ISEKADO's limited beers are known for unusual flavors and original concepts released in small quantities, and this one fits that approach well. For West Coast IPA fans, it looks like a beer built to keep the DANK character while staying crisp and highly drinkable.
