Details of the New Beer

A new beer announcement came from "Stand Umineko SiB100," located in Dogenzaka 2-chome, Shibuya, in the Shibuya Cent-gai area. The beer introduced this time is "2470 Beer Boy - Ito -". Its style is Belgian Imperial IPA w/ Kuromoji, with ABV 8.0%, IBU 41, and SRM 5. The ingredients are malt (produced in Germany), granulated sugar, hops, kuromoji chips, and carbon dioxide, and the malt content is said to be over 50%.

This beer is introduced as one entry in the "2470 Beer Boy" series, which carries on the lineage of Derailleur Brew Works. The post explains that it was brewed by Mr. Ito, a graduate of Derailleur Brew Works who now serves as head brewer at Better life with upcycle, making this a release worth noting not only for the beer itself but also for the brewer behind it.

Tasting Notes

The aromatic focus is the spiciness derived from Belgian yeast and the refreshing character of kuromoji. When poured into a glass, a berry-like fruitiness rises, layered with the crisp, refined scent that is typical of kuromoji. In addition, Callista wet hop is used for dry hopping, bringing out the fresh green character of just-picked hops and a juicy aroma that defines the beer's outline.

The flavor is built on a gentle sweetness, with kuromoji's refreshing quality slipping cleanly through. On the finish, the warm alcohol character typical of an Imperial IPA tightens the whole impression, while hints of spice, fruit, and herbs linger softly in the aftertaste. Rather than overwhelming the drinker with sheer force, the appeal of this beer lies in how carefully its changing aromas can be followed.
