A generous pour for Hakone’s autumn season

GORA Brewery Public House in Hakone, Ashigarashimo, Kanagawa, has launched its “Big Beer Mug Fair 2026” for the autumn travel season. The event runs from September 14 through October 31, offering visitors a chance to enjoy craft beer and food surrounded by Hakone’s natural scenery.

The centerpiece is the oversized Maß mug, a format also associated with Munich’s Oktoberfest. Guests can order a 1-liter Mega Mug Beer or a 600-milliliter Big Mug Beer. The substantial serving sizes are designed for a relaxed meal, a shared toast, or a refreshing break during a Hakone outing.

A limited-brew craft beer made especially for the fair is also available. Serving sizes range from 330 milliliters to 1 liter, allowing guests to choose between a more measured tasting pour and a full-sized mug. For beer enthusiasts, the event offers an opportunity to experience the brewery’s seasonal presentation alongside its regular atmosphere as a public house in Hakone.

Seasonal pairings with bold flavors

The food menu includes specially prepared jerk chicken with aromatic spices and game sausage. A meat platter combining the jerk chicken and game sausage is also available, giving groups an easy option to share alongside their beers.

The venue is an eight-minute walk from Hakone-Yumoto Station, with a free shuttle bus also available. Opening hours are 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m., with last orders at 8 p.m., and the venue is open every day. As the trees begin to change color, the terrace provides a seasonal setting for enjoying a beer in the autumn breeze.

For visitors planning a Hakone trip or weekend outing, the “Big Beer Mug Fair 2026” offers a straightforward pairing of oversized pours, limited beer, and hearty food at GORA Brewery Public House.
