A shared hop field, three brewing perspectives

Kobayashi Saketen, a beer pub in Kyoto’s Nakagyo Ward, will host “From the Hop Field with Love. Vol.1” on Friday, October 23, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.

The event focuses on hops grown at FLORA FERMENTATION’s farm in Higashiomi, Shiga. Kyoto Brewing, FLORA FERMENTATION, and Totopia Brewery each brewed a beer using hops from the same field. Guests can therefore explore how different breweries interpret the same agricultural ingredient through their own brewing approaches.

The announcement does not specify individual beer names, styles, or specifications. It does confirm that beers from all three breweries will be available together at the Kyoto venue, making the event a chance to compare their aromas, flavors, and expressions side by side.

Members of all three breweries are scheduled to attend both event days. Along with tasting the beers, visitors can talk directly with the brewers about hop cultivation and brewing. That producer-to-drinker interaction is a central part of the event.

Located on Shinkyogoku Street near Shijo in central Kyoto, Kobayashi Saketen offers a convenient setting for enjoying craft beer while exploring the city. The event will also be held on October 24 at DANKY BEER STORE in Aichi. At the Kyoto gathering, guests can follow the story of the hops—from the field, to each brewery, and finally into the glass.
