IBREW Ebisu Ekimae Launches VERTERE and 5 Other New Taps
CRAFT BEER BAR IBREW Ebisu Ekimae announced five new taps on Instagram. The lineup features beers from VERTERE, Thunder Island Brewing, BEHEMOTH BREWING, West Coast Brewing, and CHORYO, and the post also announced a four-brewery TAP TAKEOVER event on April 11.

Hop BroThe lineup is VERTERE's Spinosa, Thunder Island Brewing's 140 IPA, BEHEMOTH BREWING's Haze Juice, West Coast Brewing's Mckenzie Pils, and CHORYO's FRUITS SOUR - Strawberry -. It has IPA, pilsner, and sour, so it's a really fun set for side-by-side tasting.
MugiWhat is that! Pils sounds suddenly so smart, doesn't it? It feels like some kind of difficult beer spell!
Hop BroPils is a crisp lager style, and a beer like West Coast Brewing's Mckenzie Pils really shows that clean finish. By contrast, Hazy IPA is known for haze and juiciness, and Haze Juice is right in the middle of that lane.
MugiOhhh! So comparing them on the same day makes it easy to notice the differences in hop aroma and mouthfeel. Having a sour in there too makes it even more fun!
Hop BroExactly, and Spinosa is a Single Hop IPA, so it's the kind of beer that showcases one hop's character on its own. Also, 140 IPA is a Northwest IPA and Haze Juice is a Hazy IPA, so even within IPA the differences in shape and expression are really interesting.
MugiGoing all in with just one hop really puts the hop in the spotlight! So that means it's basically showing off the hop's personality, right? I feel like I could brag about that!
Hop BroAnd with CHORYO's FRUITS SOUR - Strawberry -, it even lands on a fruity finish, so the overall flow is really nice. Since it's a basement beer pub in the STM Ebisu Building in Ebisu Minami, it's also a good place to sit back and take your time drinking.

IBREW Ebisu Ekimae is a beer pub located inside the STM Ebisu Building in Ebisu Minami. It is introduced as a basement venue right in front of the station, making it a convenient place to spend time slowly enjoying craft beer. When domestic and overseas breweries appear together on the same day like this, it becomes easier to notice style differences, from hop sharpness and aroma to the fruitiness of a sour.
April 11 Event
The post also announced a four-brewery TAP TAKEOVER to be held on Saturday, April 11, with Yamamori-doh, Swan Lake Beer, karuizawa Q, and HEIWA CRAFT. In addition to the release of a special collaboration beer, about six beers from each brewery, for a total of 24, are planned, so the event should be more distinctive than the regular tap lineup.
