Published as an exhibitor introduction

In an Instagram post for KIGEN Japanese Sake Fest, Exhibitor Introduction / file.55 featured THERAPYNIA Co., Ltd. (Nara Prefecture). The post also included @okuyamato.beer, making the connection to Okuyamato Brewing clear.

Okuyamato Brewing is a brewery based in Uda City, Nara, that produces herbal craft beer using fruits, medicinal herbs, and other ingredients grown in the Okuyamato region. On its official website, the brewery also presents places that create connections not only through beer, but with the land and the people there, such as the bar attached to the brewery called "TAP ROOM" and the guesthouse where you can stay overnight, "TAP to BED."

What stands out in this post is that the company places plants at the center of its brewing. The text explains that plants are not treated as mere supplementary ingredients; instead, they are layered with the malt, rice, and honey that form the foundation of fermentation, bringing out their aromas and character. The flavors of the beer are supported by more than bitterness and roasted notes. Behind it is a philosophy of designing aroma, lingering aftertaste, and even the sense of temperature from ingredients rooted in the local land.

The event spans three days: the eve festival on May 29, 2026, and the main festival on May 30 and 31. Held at the Nara Prefectural Convention Center, it is planned as a venue to expand the appeal of sake from Nara. The post also shows a lineup that brings together makers from inside and outside Nara Prefecture, including craft sake producers, breweries, and wineries.

For Okuyamato Brewing, this could be an opportunity to bring its work, which makes use of local plants and aromas, directly to sake and beer lovers. As a brewery that has valued cups in which the contours of the ingredients and the land can be felt more than flashy presentation, it will be worth watching to see what kind of expression it brings to the venue.
