Brasserie. A. Route, located in Nada Ward, Kobe, has tapped a pale ale called "Platform 4" as its new spring beer. In a post, the brewery said it had "been on tap since yesterday," introducing it as a limited release designed to capture a spring-like character.
At the heart of the recipe is American Mosaic hops, newly imported and from the 2025 harvest. The beer uses a single hop variety, and during the brewing process, the timing of hop additions was adjusted repeatedly to fine-tune the balance of aroma and bitterness. In addition, the fermentation tank used DDH (Double Dry Hop), layering hop additions on par with an IPA to give the aroma greater depth.
The posted tasting notes highlight an aroma like fresh leaves and new buds, a crisp bitterness, and a strong aromatic lift. It appears designed for the light, refreshing feel people want in early spring, while still delivering a clear sense of hop character.
Brasserie. A. Route is a dining spot with an on-site craft beer brewing facility, located in Suidosuji Shopping Street in Nada Ward, Kobe, Hyogo. Its location makes it easy to stop by in the middle of a walk around town, and the way the local shopping street and beer making are connected is part of its appeal. This latest "Platform 4" release is positioned as another new beer to enjoy as part of everyday life.
