GROUNDTAP BREWERY in Saijo City, Ehime Prefecture, has announced its coffee dark lager "KANZASHI." Working with BRANCH COFFEE, the brewery says it selected beans from Colombia's "La Hojeria" from among several candidates.

These beans are dark roasted and are characterized by an aroma reminiscent of prunes. GROUNDTAP BREWERY says it chose them with the idea of adding an "accent" to an orthodox dark lager. The finished beer is a balanced brew that layers fruity coffee aromas with malt sweetness and richness. With a crisp, lager-like finish, it comes together as a beer you can enjoy like iced coffee.

Sales began early at PREP ROOM on April 30, and it will also be served at TAP ROOM starting May 2. It is already on sale in the online shop and on the EC site for business customers, with 350 ml cans available and 15 L kegs prepared for professional accounts. This is a release worth noting as a carefully crafted expression of the intersection between coffee and beer from the Saijo brewery.
