Dortmunder Glück lands at the Karuizawa Q taproom

Karuizawa Q, the brewpub at goodafternoon_taproom in Naka-Karuizawa, has introduced its new beer, Glück. The name is German for luck or happiness, and the beer is presented as a calm, malt-forward option rather than a flashy hop showcase.

It comes in at 5.5% ABV and 27 IBU in the Dortmunder style. According to the post, the beer is built around soft malt depth, a bread-like toasted finish, and a refined bitterness with clear edges. German hop varieties are used to keep the aroma elegant and the finish crisp.

The venue itself fits the beer well. GOOD AFTERNOON sits on the second floor above the brewery, so guests can drink fresh house beer alongside food designed to match craft beer. It is the kind of place where you can slow down, order a beer, and let the evening stretch out a little longer in Karuizawa.

The post also notes that Glück will be served only at GOOD AFTERNOON and its sister locations, with no general retail release planned. For beer drinkers in Karuizawa, that makes it a taproom-only beer worth catching on site.
