A New Challenge: A “Black Hazy” Beer
Streetlight Brewing's latest release is SYNCHROHAZED. It is a Black Hazy IPA with an ABV of 7.5%, and it went on tap at the brewery's taproom on March 7, with nationwide shipments for kegs and distribution starting on March 9.
The post also refers to the brewery's background, inspired by the beer culture of Portland, Oregon, Streetlight Brewing's sister city in the U.S. The community aspect that developed from a culture of enjoying beer indoors during rainy and cold seasons is framed as something that also resonates with Sapporo's winter.
A Beer Born from the Context of the Winter Beer Club
This recipe took shape through discussion and voting in the brewery's "Winter Beer Club" Season 2. Following last season's high-ABV hazy IPA "Kuru - KURUY" (ABV 9.5%), this time the result is a "black hazy" beer.
Idaho 7 is used as the main hop. The design combines tropical aromas with the toasty character brought by roasted barley, aiming for a balance between stout-like elements and hazy IPA characteristics.
