Hey.today! Beer stand will host “Hey.Flesh Hop Fes!” in Sapporo on Saturday, September 26. The event will focus exclusively on freshly tapped craft beers brewed with Hokkaido hops harvested earlier this summer. Since fresh hop beers generally begin reaching the market around early October, the festival offers an early taste of the seasonal releases.

The event runs from 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. at Hey.today! Beer stand, located in the basement of Frontier Sapporo Building, 9-22 Minami 3-jo Nishi 1-chome, Chuo-ku, Sapporo.

Five breweries are listed as participating: NIKIYA FARM & BREWERY from Niki, SUSUKINO BREWING from Sapporo, Kuriyama Craft from Kuriyama, Bifuka Shirakaba Brewery from Bifuka, and IWANAI BREWERY from Iwanai. The lineup gives beer fans a chance to compare the character of fresh hops from different parts of Hokkaido in one setting.

IWANAI BREWERY & HOTEL is a highland brewery in the town of Iwanai where visitors can eat, drink, and stay overnight. Iwanai is associated with the discovery of wild hops in 1871, and the brewery places particular emphasis on hop flavor and aroma. Since 2021, it has also cultivated hops at a farm near the brewery, harvesting them each summer for seasonal beers released in autumn.

The brewery uses deep ocean water drawn in Iwanai in its brewing process. Its regular range includes Pilsner, IPA, Pale Ale, and Stout, alongside seasonal and limited beers. At this festival, visitors can experience the brewery’s hop-focused approach and local water in the heart of Sapporo.

Fresh hop beer is prized for its short-lived, vibrant character and lively aroma. For the latest pouring details, visitors should check the official announcements from Hey.today! Beer stand and the participating breweries.
