HOPJAPAN TapRoom Iwaki taps Aengus, a limited LUSH collaboration stout
HOPJAPAN TapRoom Iwaki, located on the 3rd floor of S-PAL Iwaki next to Iwaki Station, has started serving Aengus. The new guest beer is a Modern Irish Stout created as a collaboration with LUSH and is available only on tap in limited quantities.
HOPJAPAN TapRoom Iwaki, on the 3rd floor of S-PAL Iwaki at Iwaki Station, has added a new guest beer: Aengus.
The taproom is run directly by Hop Japan, a brewery in Fukushima that makes use of homegrown hops from the Abukuma highlands. Its appeal is fresh, brewery-direct beer in a station-side location that is easy to drop into after work or while shopping.
Aengus is listed as a Modern Irish Stout. According to the post, it has the rich character associated with dark beer, while keeping roast notes and bitterness in check for a gentler profile. The release is also described as a collaboration with LUSH, built around the idea of "LUSH shampoo × Hop Japan's dark beer."
It is being offered on tap only, with no bottle sales. Because the release is limited, it is the kind of beer that is worth checking sooner rather than later. For regulars, it adds another reason to visit a taproom that already mixes brewery-direct freshness with limited and seasonal pours.
