Kyoto-themed tap takeover
Craft Beer Server Land Akasaka-Mitsuke is set to hold its annual "Traveling Tap Takeover: Kyoto" once again. This is the third edition, and more than 30 beers will be on tap during the June 22-27 run.
The highlight is an original beer brewed at Ichijoji Brewery with support from Kyoto brewers. According to the post, it was made with Kyoto-grown water, malt, hops and yuzu, making it the centerpiece of the event.
What to expect on tap
The breweries listed in the announcement are ASOBI BEER, Primary Barrels, Bighand Bros, NUDE BEER, CRAFT BANK, Arashiyama Brewery, Spring Valley Kyoto, Ichijoji Brewery, KOTOKOTO BEER, 52’s Brewing Exploration, Woodmill Brewery, Yamorido, Kyoto Brewing, Kyoto Beer Lab and Nishijin Bakushu. The lineup leans heavily on Kyoto breweries while spanning a wide range of brewing styles.
The basement beer-pub setting in Akasaka-Mitsuke fits the format well. Kyoto-only food will also be available, and brewers are scheduled to visit on the final day, June 27, along with a janken tournament and prize giveaway. That makes it an event where guests can drink, meet the makers and follow the changing tap list throughout the week.
For anyone interested in Kyoto craft beer, this is a straightforward way to sample a broad snapshot of the region in one place.
