Koti Brewery in Bizen, Okayama is releasing its annual `Citrus Ale` again this year. This bottled-only batch uses not only the summer mandarin peel, but also the leftover pulp and juice from the process used for `Naked Ale`.

The beer is built around organically grown summer mandarins. In previous batches, only the peel was dried in the sun, but this year’s version brings in the juice as well, giving the beer a more direct expression of the fruit. The brewery describes it as a crisp, tart, slightly bitter ale that works well in hot weather.

Because the fruit pulp is included, the beer has more sediment and may show some floating material at the top. The brewery notes that this is not a quality issue, but it does make the beer less suited to drinkers looking for a clear pour. It is also recommended well chilled.

Production is limited, so orders are handled on a first-come, first-served basis. The release is being offered to shops the brewery already works with, which means availability will likely stay tight. For beer fans, this is a seasonal Koti Brewery release that leans into fruit character and limited supply at the same time.
