Yuluumu Brewing to Release Three Limited Fresh Hop Beers on October 9
Yuluumu Brewing in Mito, Ibaraki, will release three limited fresh hop beers on October 9, 2026. The beers were brewed with hops grown and harvested by students at three local elementary and junior high schools.
Yuluumu Brewing, a brewpub in Mito, Ibaraki, has announced the completion of its 2026 fresh hop beers. The hops were grown with care by children at three local schools and harvested during the summer before being used in the brews.
The lineup consists of three beers: “Fuzoku Craft Beer,” made with hops grown at the Elementary School Attached to the College of Education, Ibaraki University; “HOP STORY,” made with hops from Mito City Umegaoka Elementary School; and “Senba Tenseishu,” made with hops from Senba Junior High School.
Each beer reflects a different school’s hop-growing project, making the set a natural choice for a side-by-side tasting. The brewery has not announced detailed tasting notes, but the beers offer an opportunity to experience the seasonal character of locally grown fresh hops while following the students’ work from cultivation to brewing.
Sales are scheduled to begin on Friday, October 9, and all three beers will be available in limited quantities. Yuluumu Brewing operates as a brewpub at 2624-1 Kobukicho, Mito, where guests can enjoy craft beer in a brewery-connected setting. Visitors interested in the school-grown hop beers should check availability before visiting, as stocks are limited.
