At PUB Karr in Kyoto's Nakagyo Ward, the guest beer lineup was updated as of May 1, 2026. The new arrival is Ume-chu, a collaboration between Minoh Beer × Mikkeller Tokyo. It is introduced as an easy-drinking sour made with ripe Nanko plums from Minabe Town in Wakayama Prefecture.
On tap that day is a lineup that will appeal both to those curious about the impression of plum and to those who want to follow the character of craft beer. Served are FLORA FERMENTATION's "TAYU," also FLORA FERMENTATION's "Raven" (marked as a new arrival), Kyoto Brewing's "Ichigo Ichie," and Asahi Beer's "Maruef."
PUB Karr is the kind of beer pub where you can take your time choosing beers in Kyoto, and updating the guest taps is part of the fun of the shop itself. The setup, where you can compare a new craft release, a local Kyoto staple, and a familiar lager at the same table, is a welcome one for drinkers. It also makes it easy to start with a tart beer and then move on to bottles with different aromas and mouthfeel.
An 18:00 opening time has also been announced, making it easy to stop by for just one drink after work or to sample several beers side by side. If you want to enjoy the soft acidity of plum, try "Ume-chu"; if you want to see the range of craft beer, go for "TAYU" or "Raven"; and if you want reliable classics, try "Ichigo Ichie" or "Maruef."
