Two new beers on March 26

BLACK TIDE BREWING, a brewpub in Kesennuma City, Miyagi Prefecture, has announced new releases for March 26. This time, two beers are arriving at once: the collaborative beer "Heaven’s Age" with Teenage Brewing, and the latest batch of the core Lager, "Days Over."

Sales begin at the ONLINE SHOP at 8:00 PM on Thursday, March 26 and at the TAP ROOM at 4:00 PM on Friday, March 27. Released just as spring is starting to feel more real, the post also includes a message encouraging people to enjoy it during the season when cherry-blossom viewing and outdoor drinking feel especially good.

"Heaven’s Age," a collaboration with Teenage Brewing

"Heaven’s Age" is a collab beer with Teenage Brewing from Tokigawa, Saitama. It is a milky Hazy IPA made with milk and oat protein, with the style listed as Milky Hazy IPA and an ABV of 6.5%.

The malt bill uses Pilsner, Oat, and Wheat, while the hops are Citra (Cryo), Citra, Simcoe, Mosaic, and Rakau. The post describes it as having a lightly milky mouthfeel, layered with tropical and fruity aromas, and finishing with a firm bitterness. It is a beer that balances softness and punch, making it appealing both to those who want a heavily aromatic IPA and to those looking for something a little different.

Core Lager "Days Over"

The simultaneously released "Days Over" is the latest batch of BLACK TIDE BREWING's core Lager. It is characterized by the bright aroma of New Zealand hops and is said to finish light and easy-drinking. It is presented as the kind of lager you would want to keep stocked in the fridge for everyday drinking, and comparing it with the collaboration beer should make the differences even easier to appreciate.

What it means to drink it in Kesennuma

BLACK TIDE BREWING is a brewpub located in Minamimachi, Kesennuma, Miyagi. One of its charms is being able to taste freshly brewed beer in a direct-from-the-source space that reflects the brewery's personality. Being able to release a limited collaboration beer and a new batch of a core beer side by side, as they do here, is also a moment where you can feel the brewery's current state as it is.

At this time of year, right at the start of spring, both a fragrant Hazy IPA and an easy-drinking Lager feel especially appealing. It might be nice to start with "Heaven’s Age" and enjoy the collaboration's unique layers, then wind down with "Days Over."
