Saien Microbrewery with Kitchen in Morioka, Iwate, introduced a new beer called Citra Dry-Hopped Lager on its official Instagram. The post says the beer is built around the popular Citra hop, with bright grapefruit- and lemon-like citrus aromatics plus a subtle tropical-fruit note. It is presented as a lager that keeps a crisp, clean drinking profile while still giving hop aroma center stage.

The brewery itself was created when the former Cucina in the Saien district was renovated into a pub brewery. Produced by Baeren Brewery, the concept is not to simply repeat Baeren's familiar lineup, but to make more experimental and ambitious beers. That background matters here: the new release fits a brewery that treats beer as part of a broader food-and-drink experience in central Morioka.

According to the post, the beer is a fit not only for drinkers who like IPA-like hop character, but also for people who feel strongly bitter beers are not for them. In other words, it aims to bridge aromatic hop expression and lager drinkability without leaning too far in either direction.
