Early opening for the trail event

Chiitoko Shouten, a beer pub known for dagashi snacks, craft beer, and coffee, will open earlier than usual in Shimosuwa, Nagano, on September 30, 2026. The post lists regular hours of noon to 10 p.m., while also announcing an 8 a.m. opening to match the Shimosuwa Onbashira Kaido Trail weekend.

The shop is located along the road where participants approach the finish, making it a convenient stop for runners after completing the course as well as for spectators.

Four draft beers on tap

The tap list includes Barbizon, a 6.0% saison from Nobara Homestead Brewery in Aoki, Nagano. Zaerts 419, brewed by Yokohama Bay Brewing in Totsuka, Kanagawa, is a 4.2% pilsner with a lighter profile.

For hop-forward options, Kyoto Brewing’s 6.5% Autumnal Whim is a red IPA, while Shiga Kogen Beer’s Africa Pale Ale is a 5.0% session IPA from Yamanouchi, Nagano. Together, the lineup covers crisp, refreshing choices as well as richer, more aromatic beers.

Beer, coffee, and baked treats

Chiitoko Shouten’s appeal extends beyond its taps. Guests can pair their beer or coffee with sausage rolls, banana bread, whole-wheat scones, chilled chocolate brownies, and other baked goods. Iced lemonade, bottled ramune, and non-alcoholic hop sparkling drinks are also available.

Payment is made in advance by cash or PayPay. The shop also provides a nursing and diaper-changing room and allows strollers inside, depending on how busy it is. Visitors should check the shop’s latest updates before stopping by.
