The brewpub jokun-brewing/Craft Beer Jokun, located in Honcho, Tokamachi City, Niigata Prefecture, posted a roundup on Instagram announcing its upcoming event appearances.
The first item that stands out in the post is "The Beer Exhibition," held in Kashiwazaki City from May 8 to 10. Jokun says it will be exhibiting again this year, following last year, and will bring a beer brewed with Koshinokhomare sake lees. It is a chance to taste a drink made with ingredients derived from sake brewing at the event venue.
It also announced that on Saturday, April 18, it will take part in "Spring Kuranomi" at Hara Sake Brewery's direct sales shop, "Shusaikan." There, Koshinokhomare BAR (2-hour all-you-can-drink, 2,000 yen), spring chirashi sushi (limited quantity, 1,200 yen), along with food and sweets, will be available. It shows an approach of stepping out from the Tokamachi brewery and expanding into sake brewery events and craft beer festivals.
In addition, there are booths scheduled for a number of locations through early summer, including "Night, Tacos, and Jokun @ Tanaka Kumakichi" on April 28 in Tokamachi City, "Yuzawa Marche" on May 17 in Yuzawa Town, "Craft beer house Takasaki'26" and "Chitobia'26" on May 23 and 24, and "Sasayama Jomon Market" on June 7. As a local brewpub in Tokamachi, the movement of touring around with its own brewed beer is likely to continue for a while.
